Field Guide Charlie
Your guide to transformational experiences in Europe Connecting you to the places and practitioners regenerating Europe's land — somewhere you can go, meet, taste and check for yourself.Experiences
Book with the enterprise itself — a morning on a farm, a table in the field, a week in one landscape. Sign up for Charlie's Field Notes and get a discount code for these experiences.
Farm days
Spend a day with farmers rebuilding their soils — holistic grazing, agroforestry, market gardens. Walk the fields, dig your hands into living ground and taste what regeneration grows.
Rewilding walks
Guided walks through landscapes being handed back to nature — restored wetlands, grazed wood pastures, wild edges returning to life. Learn to read the signs of recovery, from fresh tracks to the first returning bird calls.
Places to stay
Sleep where the work happens — farmhouses, barns and off-grid cabins kept by the people restoring the land. Wake to the fields you walked, and eat what comes off them.
Multi-day journeys
Several days following one landscape — farms, tables and wild edges strung into a single route, with the driving and the introductions taken care of.
Field Guide Charlie
I'm Charles — a qualified field guide. In the last two decades I worked in the safari industry in Africa, ran an entrepreneurship incubator in Sweden and through my regenerative entrepreneurship consultancy I have been walking the talk with farmers, tour operators and accommodations — diving into their bottlenecks. Field Guide Charlie is where all the above comes together.
A field guide helps you find and identify the living things in a landscape. Here I do the same with places — the regenerative farms and rewilding sites of Europe, and the small hosts and operators genuinely supporting them. A map, free to browse and not for sale. Stories, made with the people doing the work, not about them. Experiences you can actually book.
The people restoring Europe's land are doing work I think matters more than almost anything else in food and travel — and hardly anyone can find them. They are small businesses without marketing teams, and regeneration stays an abstraction because so few people have ever stood in it. So the point isn't the trips. The point is that attention and money reach the land, and that regeneration becomes somewhere you have been rather than something you have read about.
I'm starting where regeneration is already on the ground and growing outward from there. It's a work in progress and it's never finished — we will always keep supporting land stewards.
Are you ready to get your boots dirty?
See you in the field one day!

Charlie's Field Notes
I don't want to depend on third parties to stay in touch with you. Sign up to my Field Notes and I can reach you directly. As a thank you, you see the experiences before they go online, and you get the discount code for co-organised trips. I don't like spam either — only the good stuff.
Dispatches from the field
I post from the field in between — the places, the people and the seasons as I find them — on Instagram, @fieldguidecharlie
